Richard Saxton is one of the most respected figures in the radio control (RC) racing world, with a career defined by precision, consistency, and championship-level performance. Known affectionately in the industry as “The King,” Saxton played a pivotal role in the dominance of the Team Associated RC10GT — a 1:10 scale gas-powered stadium truck that would go down in history as the only undefeated platform in ROAR (Remotely Operated Auto Racers) National Championship competition.
 
Saxton’s relationship with the RC10GT began in the early 1990s when gas truck racing was starting to gain popularity. Team Associated’s RC10GT debuted with a revolutionary design based on the proven RC10 platform, adapted for nitro power. With its durable chassis, precise handling, and superior suspension geometry, the RC10GT was an instant contender. But it was under the control of Richard Saxton that the truck became unbeatable.
 
Between 1994 and the early 2000s, Saxton and the RC10GT dominated the ROAR Nationals, capturing multiple titles and cementing the GT’s status as the most successful nitro stadium truck ever produced. The RC10GT won every ROAR Gas Truck National Championship it entered during its production run — a feat no other RC platform has accomplished. Saxton’s driving was a major reason for that dominance, as his smooth, controlled style and deep mechanical knowledge helped refine the setup and performance of the truck at the highest levels.
